Universal Credit
Housing Benefit is being replaced:
by Universal Credit for people of working age,
by
Pension Credit plus
for people of Pension Credit age,
by a new system of support for people living in
'exempt accommodation'
.
Universal Credit is being introduced in phases from April 2013 in the
Pathfinder
areas, and then progressive roll-out will start from October 2013 with migration completed by 2017.
This means that by the end of 2017 Housing Benefit will no longer exist.
This change will have huge implication for
social housing providers
. Use the menu on the left for more information.
