Housing Benefit claims made by people of Pension Credit age are being affected by two changes:
1. The equalisation of women's and men's state retirement age - which has already started (

2. The proposal to replace all the means tested benefits including Housing Benefit by Universal Credit, planned to start in October 2013. The DWP has confirmed that a new 'Housing Credit' element will be introduced into new claims of Pension Credit from October 2014 - but this raises some interesting questions. (
